Language requirements – Global Forestry

To gain admission to the GloFor programme, you must document your English language proficiency.

We only accept the following two ways of documenting that you fulfill the requirement of your English language proficiency:

You have completed a full degree in English

If you have completed an upper secondary school degree, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in English from one of the following countries:

– Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or USA.

You must upload a copy or scan of your official school diploma as documentation.

The degree must be a minimum 2 years of studies. A student exchange semester/year is not sufficient documentation for English language proficiency.

You have taken en English language test

You must document that you have passed one of the following accepted tests:

– IELTS Academic (taken at an IELTS test centre or online)
– TOEFL iBT, TOEFL iBT paper edition or TOEFL iBT Home Edition
– Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)

Please note that we will only accept an official certificate of your test results as proof of English language proficiency. Documentation of registration for an English language test will not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency

Deadlines for sending your documentation:
Your English language test must be valid at the application deadline:
– For citizens from a country outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland: 15 January, 23:59 CET
– For citizens from a country within the EU, EEA or Switzerland: 1 March, 23:59 CET

Your application will be rejected if you have not provided sufficient documentation for English language proficiency by the application deadline.

The IELTS and TOEFL results are only valid if they are not older than 2 years counted from the application deadline. There is no limitation for validity for the Cambridge tests.

List of accepted tests and minimum score requirements

If you fall under the category ‘all other applicants’ this is the list of accepted tests and minimum score requirements you must adhere to:

TOEFL IBT TOEFL IBT paper edition TOEFL IBT Home Edition	83 (MyBest Scores are not accepted)	Please note that you have to add our institutional code (0177) as the recipient, so we can verify the result online. You can check if the institutional code has been added to your profile on the test score sheet.
Cambridge Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)	Passed at level C1 or C2	You must inform your test centre that the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen is allowed to verify your test score results online. You must upload documentation which includes your Statement of Results number or Reference number.

Examples of non-acceptable alternatives to document English language proficiency

Be sure to check if you have sufficient documentation for English language proficiency since we do not accept alternatives other than those listed above. Also, be aware that your nationality is not proof of English proficiency.

We do not accept the following ways of documenting your English proficiency:

– Documentation for an English language test other than the specific ones listed above
– Your passport
– A letter from your university stating English as medium of instruction
– A letter from a professor
